Why do guys always pretend to be rich and wealthy when they aren't and its obvious they aren't. I've been on so many dates where the guy talks about how much money he has and buys things that are totally out of his range, and that only last so long as the guys can't keep it up. Why do guys even bother? I don't think they are ever really fooling the girl. Girls can tell if a guy is wealthy or not and how much money he has so guys should stop faking and pretending, don't you think?

I completely agree. If the guys are pretending to have money than they are probably lying about other things too.I'm not saying look for a guy that has no money just someone who is at the very least is honest. I couldn't tell you why guys lie and i'm a guy but they are probably not the right guy in the first place. Sorry to hear that and happy hunting.

Guys do a lot of pretending to get a date, and honestly so do girls. Girls wear higher heals than they typically do. Girls spending more time getting ready in the early days of dating. What I'm saying here is that both guys and girls pretend in one way in the other. That's why when you date you have to get to really know the person. However, if the guy is saying he's a millionaire and it turns out he was lying that's a whole different thing and you should dump him. But if he is being nice and taking you to meals he can't afford, he could just be thinking more about love than his wallet and that shouldn't be seen necessarily as a horribly bad thing.
